Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing

GAP has extensive experience in testing the effectiveness of novel antimicrobial agents. These include a wide variety of all natural hand sanitizers and all purpose cleaners, natural fabrics, rubber compounds, sterile dressings, and sport equipment sterilization devices.

To assess the antimicrobial effectiveness of a product, GAP employs standard published protocols such as:
ASTM E2315 Standard Guide for Assessment of Antimicrobial Activity Using a Time Kill Procedure
ISO 22196 International Standard: Measurement of Antibacterial Activity on Plastics Surfaces
ASTM:E2180 Standard Test Method for Determining the Activity of Incorporated Antimicrobial Agents in Polymeric or Hydrophobic Materials
USP 51 Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing
AATCC 030 Antifungal Activity, Assesment on Textile Materials: Mildew and Rot Resistance of Textile Materials
AATCC 100 Assessment of Antibacterial Finishes on Textile Materials
AATCC 147 Antibacterial Activity Assessment of Textile Materials: Parallel Streak Method

In addition to standard protocols, GAP can design custom test protocols for specialized testing requirements and products.
